Air Filter Maintenance, the “Breathing Barrier” of the Engine
The air filter is the “breathing barrier” of the engine intake system, responsible for filtering dust and impurities in the air, preventing them from entering the engine cylinder, causing wear of pistons, cylinder walls and other parts, and affecting engine performance. The key to air filter maintenance is regular inspection and replacement.
It is recommended to check the air filter every 5,000 kilometers. If there is less dust on the filter surface, you can gently tap it or blow it clean with compressed air (from the inside out) and continue to use it; if there is more dust on the filter surface and it is severely blocked, it needs to be replaced in time. Generally, it is recommended to replace it every 10,000-15,000 kilometers.
For vehicles driving in dusty and sandy environments for a long time, the inspection and replacement cycle of the air filter needs to be shortened. When replacing the air filter, ensure it is installed in place and sealed well to avoid unfiltered air entering the engine. In addition, avoid cleaning the air filter with water, otherwise it will damage the filter and lose its filtering effect.
